Associate ProfessorWhat do we mean by 'responsible' and what are the 'mechanisms' for generating research and innovation in a responsible manner, if sustainable mechanisms for developing and embedding responsible research and innovation can be developed? My research aims to find ways to make them happen, especially in the field of biomedicine/life sciences in Japan.
Recent Topics of Interests:
A particular focus at present is the design of sustainable mechanisms for the development and fostering of responsible research and innovation in Japan. Two aspects of particular emphasis are:
1) From 'research integrity' and 'research ethics' perspective, focusing on the systems, mechanisms and education that are appropriate and lead to excellent research for both researchers and society, and
2) From the perspective of the concept and concrete ways of patient & public involvement in research, which serves as one of the mechanisms enabling responsible research and innovation, it is essential to explore how these practices can be embedded in the culture of the research community. This entails establishing a mechanism that is appropriately integrated into the culture of the research community.
Motto in Research or in Life:
My name is 仁 / Jin, so I like this concept. The concept of 'Jin (benevolence / ren / 仁)' is one of the five virtues valued in Confucianism, and Chinese philosophers such as Confucius are famous for their importance.
Hobby / Holiday:
My days are filled with the desire to sight, touch, and create beautiful things. Perhaps.
