Professor We are conducting research on the preparation and evaluation of solid dispersion formulations, nanoparticle formulations, and self-emulsifying formulations with the aim of improving the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs. Our focus is on clarifying drug elution and membrane permeation mechanisms from these formulations at the molecular level, contributing to formulation development.
The formulation and physical property evaluation technology in our laboratory is also applied to various fields, including food, cosmetics, and agrochemical-related industries.

Professor, DirectorMembrane proteins play important roles in intercellular communication and are crucial targets for drug discovery. It is known that over 60% of commercially available drugs act on membrane proteins. In 2022, Chiba University established a research center dedicated to membrane protein research, where we focus on the production of membrane proteins, the development of structure-function analysis techniques, and the development of new drugs.

ProfessorI conduct research to contribute to health and medicine by utilizing image processing, computer vision, and virtual reality technologies. My research focuses on various areas, including the development of augmented reality (AR) technology to support high-difficulty surgical operations, computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) technology, and virtual reality (VR) technology to enhance the efficiency of medical training for doctors. Additionally, I am involved in the research and development of technology using images and optics to measure biological information, such as respiration and gaze. By collaborating with physicians from different medical specialties, I am committed to developing new technologies that can promptly address the challenges in clinical settings.

ProfessorMy goal is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying diseases caused by immune system overreactions, such as allergic conditions including bronchial asthma and autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis. I aim to develop treatments based on these findings.
I am particularly interested in understanding the mechanisms that control T cell activation, which plays a central role in immune system dysregulation, and exploring the epigenetic regulation of immune memory.

ProfessorEver since my undergraduate days, when I first encountered brilliant luminescence from rare earth complexes, I have been captivated by the beauty of their luminescence. Driven by this fascination, my research focuses on harnessing and controlling this unique luminescence through external stimuli. In particular, I aim to develop innovative display and dimming technologies by fine-tuning the light emission and coloration of these photo-functional materials via electrochemical reactions—precisely manipulating electron exchange within the materials.
Recent Topics of Interest:
I am interested in fusing electrochemical optical behavior, such as the light emission and color change of individual nanoscale molecules, with other optical phenomena observed in larger-scale micrometer-sized mesoscopic structures. Additionally, I often reflect on how best to inspire young people to experience the beauty and excitement of luminescence that captivated me.

I employ state-of-the-art analytical techniques to gain a deep understanding of complex electrode reactions at the atomic and molecular levels. My research places a strong emphasis on the basics, intending to create electrode catalysts that exhibit higher levels of activity.
