Tenure Track Associate ProfessorI am collaborating with the Institute of Fruit Tree and Tea Science, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, to conduct research aimed at developing efficient breeding methods for fruit trees using genomic information. Specifically, I am working on the development of a method called genomic selection (GS), which predicts the characteristics of future fruits, such as pericarp color and fruit weight, at the seedling stage, enabling early selection.

I am interested in researching how to extract essential information from big data, such as genomes and images, and how to utilize this information for the breeding of fruit trees.

LecturerMy research focuses on the analysis of the synthetic pathways of plant pigments, and the isolation and functional identification of the enzyme genes that synthesize them. Of particular interest are the enzymes that synthesize pigments with unique structures, often found only in specific plant species.

Professor / Vice-principal As a junior high school technology teacher, I have been actively involved in information education, especially in the area of information moral education, even before the widespread use of Windows 95. In addition to authoring articles and textbooks on information education and authorized textbooks, I develop teaching materials related to information morals, such as "Guide to Living in the Internet Society (in Japanese)."
Moreover, I have been honored to serve as a workshop lecturer for programs focused on information ethics education, including the "Media Education Leader Course" and "Information Morality Leader Training," both sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
Currently, I hold the position of vice-principal of the Junior High School affiliated with the Faculty of Education, Chiba University. Additionally, as a visiting professor at Chiba University, and a specially appointed professor at the Faculty of Education, I provide guidance to graduate school students pursuing careers in education.

ProfessorUsing interface-specific spectroscopic techniques, I explore the diverse structures, reactions, and interactions of molecules at surfaces and interfaces. My goal is to uncover unique molecular properties by investing their functionalities in these environments. Our research focuses on elucidating phenomena associated with organic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes, as well as molecular behavior at adhesive interfaces, and the role of surfactants and trace molecules at liquid interfaces.

ProfessorMy research focuses on exploring various topics: the relationship between color and object surface perception and the recognition of spatial and lighting cues, the adaptivity of vision in different environments, the diversity of color vision, and the perception of skin color and texture. The ultimate goal is to unravel the mechanisms behind human visual information processing and apply them to engineering applications. To achieve this, I employ psychophysical techniques that involve presenting individuals with diverse visual stimuli and analyzing their responses and evaluation results.

Professor We are conducting research on the preparation and evaluation of solid dispersion formulations, nanoparticle formulations, and self-emulsifying formulations with the aim of improving the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs. Our focus is on clarifying drug elution and membrane permeation mechanisms from these formulations at the molecular level, contributing to formulation development.
The formulation and physical property evaluation technology in our laboratory is also applied to various fields, including food, cosmetics, and agrochemical-related industries.

It is known that over 60% of commercially available drugs act on membrane proteins. In 2022, Chiba University established a research center dedicated to membrane protein research, where we focus on the production of membrane proteins, the development of structure-function analysis techniques, and the development of new drugs.
